MBSA monitoring hillside collapse in Seksyen 9

SHAH ALAM, MAY 5: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will continue to monitor Jalan Raja Abdullah, Seksyen 9 following a hillside collapse recently.
Its Corporate Communications and Public Relations Head, Shahrin Ahmad said that he has inspected the area through the Slope Maintenance Section, Engineering Department.
He said, the inspection found soil deposit and wall collapse in housing compounds.
“We have informed the homeowners to repair as these occur in their compounds.

“From MBSA’s observation, the fencing-wall was not built on a solid structure and was built on the trench-wall, which was not originally built to support additional weight of a fencing-wall,” he said to SelangorKini.
At the same time, Sharin reminded the public particularly road users to be careful and slow-down their vehicles when passing the area.
“In the event of disasters such as fallen tree, flood and landslide, the public can contact MBSA flash-team at 03-55105811 (24 hours),” he said.
147 families were reported to be at risk following the second hillside collapse at the Seksyen 9 housing area.
Residents claimed that the incident was due to drain upgrading works and had urged MBSA to pay serious attention to the matter before it happens again.
