Severed ties will not affect Selangor Government – Wan Azizah

BY: NORHAYATI UMOR
SHAH ALAM, MAY 12: The decision by Majlis Syura Ulama PAS to severe its political ties with KEADILAN will not affect the Selangor Government.
KEADILAN President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said Selangor Government led by Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali will continue to function as normal to develop the state and bring prosperity to its citizens.
She said, the latest development is not an obstacle as Selangor Government has acquired full mandate from the people in the state.
She said, KEADILAN has taken note of the decision by the syura council although many efforts have been taken to maintain the political coalition to fulfill citizens’ aspiration.

‘KEADILAN has never betrayed the principles of ‘tahaluf siyasi’ since the political coalition was formed.
“We support, in principle, the efforts to strengthen the syariah court as asserted by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his media statement on April 8, 2017. This is also KEADILAN’s official stand,” she said in a statement.
Azizah said, KEADILAN is now collaborating with other political parties to take over Putrajaya.
In fact she said that KEADILAN is committed to maintain the state governments of Penang, Kelantan and Selangor.
“KEADILAN’s aim and actions in all elections including the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections are to fight Umno and BN,” she said.
