Tourism Selangor focused to attract Taiwanese tourists

SHAH ALAM, MAY 11: For the first time, Tourism Selangor participated in the biggest tourism exhibition at the 2017 Taipei Tourism Expo in Taiwan, held from May 5 to 8 recently.
Its General Manager, Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said, the participation in this expo is to capture new markets particularly in Taiwan which is popular destination for Malaysians.
According to her, there are three main elements emphasized are medical, Eco and Sports as well as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions).
“We are introducing many attractions such as Kampung Kuantan, Kuala Selangor which is famous for its fireflies to world-class shopping malls, entertainment and Asia’s best theme-park.

“Tourism Selangor is also emphasizing on several new rapidly emerging products such as the Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor, Bangi Wonderland in Bangi and several tourist-friendly shopping complexes which are expected to become a hit with the Taiwanese tourists,” she said in a statement.
Noorul said, Tourism Selangor welcomes Taiwanese tourists and offers many interesting tour-packages which promises many new experiences. Taiwanese tourists into Selangor has reached 5,480, ranking Taiwan at 9 out of 10 East Asian tourist countries into Selangor.
She said with the combination of history and culture and the fusion of city and village life with modern infrastructures makes Selangor the best destination for local and foreign tourists.
“We hope that Selangor’s popularity among the Taiwanese will increase by 3 to 5 percent. We at Selangor Tourism would also like to strengthen our cooperation with the Taiwanese Tourism Bureau and work together after 2017.
“China is our biggest market into Selangor. It is expanding and sustainably growing with the arrivals of Chinese tourists for the past five years,” she said.

She also said that flight capacity from two airlines namely Malindo Air and Air Asia as well as new tour agencies has helped raised the number of tourist.
“Discover Selangor is our brand for promoting new and old products which has not received much attention, ultimately highlighting and encouraging tourism market.
“The ‘Heart of Malaysia’ is also used as the slogan to reinforce the current campaign, besides showing Selangor as a hub for transportation, development, investment, commerce, education and medicine,” she said.
