ABIM mobilises KSSB campaign, to the aid of 1,000 asnaf families

KUALA LUMPUR, JUNE 7: Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) is targeting 1,000 asnaf (eligible zakat recipients) families from the poor and Muslim converts to be helped in it’s A Person A Bag of Rice (KSSB) Campaign, throughout the Ramadan.
The programme, now in its twelfth year, is carried out by the non-governmental organisation (NGO) across the country to help the targeted group of people.
Its Secretary General, Muhammad Faisal Abdul Aziz said the KSSB programme is mobilized by Centra and State ABIM with every family receiving daily necessities to the value of RM70.
“ABIM is running this programme to help the targeted group which include Rohingya and Palestine refuges to share the joy of Ramadan.

“ABIM runs this programme out of concern for their welfare and although the amount may not be much but the help is continuous,” he said to SelangorKini at the PPT Taman Mulia, Bandar Tun Razak, yesterday.
He was with his group giving the contribution to a new Muslim convert, Muhammad Shafi Abdullah, 42.
He said that the aid distribution is carried out from house to house with the Social Welfare Department and certain communities and mosque parish.
“ABIM also opens its own distribution centre for easier distribution to the target groups,” he said.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Shafi said, his family appreciates the help from ABIM every year.
“I am happy as ABIM has never forgotten us proving the ties between Muslims are strong and tight. Thanks you ABIM for the help.” said the lorry assistant lorry driver who converted to Islam in 2008, followd by his wife, Nur Shafirah Rajasingam Abdullah, 39.
The couple have three children, Muhammad Shazrul, 14; Muhammad Ahazlan, 12 and Nur Shameera Danisha (2).
