PETALING JAYA, JUNE 20: Approximately 122 underprivilieged families had received RM100 voucher and RM200 duit raya contributed by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
Its Mayor, Dato’ Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain said, the contribution is one of the MBPJ community service programme to Petaling Jaya residents.
“Through this contribution, it is hoped that they will be less burdened to enjoy the Syawal celebration which is around the corner,” he said.
He said that at the Excellence Award and Aidilftri Contribution ceremony at the Dewan Sivik yesterday.
In that programme, 28 best students for 2016 were among the children of MBPJ employees.
“The contribution is given as a motivation for the students to work harder to achieve success and excellence,” he said.
At the same time, Azizi also distributed ‘bubur lambuk’ and raya goodies to all his employees.
