MBSA provides 142 free RORO bins in conjunction with Aidilfitri

BY SYAZWANI SUFIAN
SHAH ALAM, JUNE 5: In conjunction with the coming Aidilfitri, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will provide 142 ‘Roll On Roll Off’ (RORO) bins for bulk waste.
MBSA Head of Corporate and Public Relations, Shahrin Ahmad said, he is providing three-tonnes sized RORO bins that will be placed around the Shah Alam city from Seksyen 2 until Seksyen 36 and from Seksyen U1 until Seksyen U20.
“These RORO bins are to facilitate the public to throw bulk waste such as old furnitures and electrical items, such as cupboards, sofas, mattresses, beds, fridge, radios, televisions, battery chargers and such items.
“This free service will start from June 9 to 20 by placing the RORO bins at suitable locations in stages for residents convenience,” he said in a statement.
Shahrin said, the service is to facilitate residents to do gotong-royong activities independently in their homes.
Besides that, he said, it also educates Shah Alam people on the right way to manage bulk waste.
“MBSA hopes that residents can cooperate by placing their bulk waste in the RORO bins provided to facilitate contractors to collect and upkeep the surrounding area,” he said.
