KPWKM is ready to collaborates study on divorce issues

KUALA LUMPUR, JUL 21: The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is ready to collaborate with any agency to study and identify the growing divorce problem among the people in the country.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, said we should not blame any particular party or group of people that cause a divorce without knowing the real cause.
“I cannot agree or deny this because it is a public statement.
“We have to study first, is the allegations right or not? If it’s true that it is under the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), we could work with Cuepacs to do research,” she said.
She said this in response to a statement by the Congress of Civil Servants in the Civil Service (Cuepacs), recently regarding the claimed that the highest divorce rate is for shifting jobs in the public health sector compared to other public employment sectors.
At the same time, Rohani said LPPKN, an agency under her ministry, also advocated many family and household programmes such as 2nd Honeymoon, Smart Start and Therapy.
She said it was one of the solutions that could save a home institution before a divorce happens.
