Review recycling proposal in commercial areas

SHAH ALAM, JUL 25: The State Government is in the process to review the proposal to allow certain recycling activities in commercial areas.
Local Government, New Village Development and Illegal Factory Legalisation Exco, Ean Yong Hian Wah said, that includes issuing temporary business license for premises in appropriate zones.
“The temporary business license for premises in appropriate zones must have the support from the police and the fire department.
“However, at the moment, the proposal is still in the pipeline for the State Government,” he said at the Selangor State Assembly session yesterday.
At the same time, Ean Yong said the State Government do not have any specific programme to whiten recycling premises particularly outside of industrial areas.
Nonetheless, he said enforcement action will be taken if the public complain.
“The number of illegal scrap metal or recycling premises that are still operating in every local authorities’ jurisdictions is 441,” he said.
