RM133.2 million assessment tax expected, enhance facilities in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, JUL 26: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) expects to collect RM133.7 million in assessment tax for the second term of 2017.
Its Corporate and Public Relations Department Head, Shahrin Ahmad said, it consists of 246,072 properties in its entire jurisdiction.
He said, property owners have the opportunity to settle their tax before or on August 31, 2017 to avoid any action being taken on them.
“All property owners are reminded to perform their responsibilities and help in the smooth process for rubbish collection, cleaning of public areas and maintenaince of public infrastructure such as road lights, roads, drain and to build more parks and playgrounds.
“It also helps MBSA manage Shah Alam more efficiently and effectively, providing comfort and welfare to the people,” he said in a statement.
Shahrin said, there are 44 channels provided to facilitate owners in making payments, including the Main Counter at Wisma MBSA and its Branch Offices in Kota Kemuning, Sungai Buloh and Setia Alam.
They can also go directly to all local authorities’ offices, for payments in cash only.
Assessment tax can also be paid at local agencies such as Post Offices in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
Besides that, payment can be made at any Bank Simpanan Nasional, Ambank and Bank Muamalat branches (cash only) while payments at Agro Bank, Affin Bank, Bank Islam and EON Bank can be made in cash or by cheque.
Payments by cheques, postal order, credit cards and charge cards such as MasterCards, American Express and Dinners Club can also be done.
For payments through JomPAY, property owners only need to insert biller code:7567, account number as Ref-1 and their telephone numbers as Ref-2 and then type the amount to be paid.
To check on their assessment tax amount and balance to be paid, the public can go to eps.mbsa.gov.my.
