Selangor Study Loan second session opens

SHAH ALAM, JUL 3: Application for Selangor Study Loan (PPNS) is open for its second session from August 1 to 30.
PPNS is an interest-free loan for Selangor children taking their first full-time Certificate, Diploma and Degree studies in either public or private higher learning institutions
Among the general terms include that applicants or their parents must be born in Selangor or applicants have resided in Selangor for over five years.

The loan is offered to full-time students only while distance learning, off-campus, A Level, O Level, students of professional certificates and Vocational Colleges across the country are not eligible to apply.
Those interested may only apply online through Selangor State Scholarship Fund’s (TKWBNS) official website at http://tkwbns.selangor.gov.my.
Applicants who submit complete applications and are eligible will be called for interview which will be scheduled in two to three weeks after the closing date.
The amount of loans are RM7,000 for Medical Degree, Bachelor Degree (RM6,500), Diploma (RM4,900) and Certificate (RM4,000).

At the last Selangor State Assembly, Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said, the loan offered by the State Government may be turned into scholarship.
“Students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.25 are eligible for partial scholarships.
“Students with CGPA of 3.75 and above are eligible for full scholarships. There is no exception, all students receiving the State Government loan have the chance to receive the full scholarship,” he said.
