Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT starts operation today

KUALA LUMPUR, JUL 17: By 4 o’clock this evening, the public can start to to use the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) service between Kajang and Sungai Buloh.
The whole Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line is 51 kilometres (km) across 31 stations, including 7 underground stations, with integration with Pasar Seni, Maluri and Merdeka LRT which also integrates with Plaza Rakyat LRT.
The line also joins with LRT, Monorail, KTM Komuter and ERL at the National Museum station, which are connected with the KL Sentral station.
The MRT service is expected to reduce traffic congestion with 160,000 less vehicles in the city every day.
This is in line with government’s aim to increase the use of public transportation by 40 percent, by 2030.
