UNISEL signed MoU with SUHAKAM to enhance cooperation

SHAH ALAM, JUL 26: The Selangor University (UNISEL) plans to introduce a human right course as one of the subjects in its syllabus.
Its President and Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato’ Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman said, it is a part of the plan in its cooperation with the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM).
He said, UNISEL Academic Affairs Department, through its Development and Foundation Studies Centre (CDFS) will lead the collaboration.
“Besides introducing courses and subjects, we also plan to form an association on human rights.

“We hope the cooperation can bring positive effect and awareness to society on the importance of human rights,” he said as mentioned by the Corporate Communications Director, Hasril Abu Hassan.
Yesterday, UNISEL, represented by Mohammad Redzuan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU0 with SUHAKAM which was represented by its Deputy Chairman, Jerald Joseph, in UNISEL campus.
Mohamad Redzuan said, human rights issue is always being emphasized by UNISEL as a higher education institution owned by the State Government.
“Human rights issue is not a new thing in this country.
“This cooperation is aimed to help both parties especially in the field of research and organisation of human rights programmes,” he said.
