SHAH ALAM, AUG 29: A survey conducted by Darul Ehsan Institute (IDE) found that 69% respondents agreed that the 1MDB scandal tarnished the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s reputation.
The survey also showed that only a 14% answered that the scandal which attracted the whole world, did not tarnish Najib’s reputation and another 17% were not sure.
The 2017 Malaysian Survey, #MoodRakyat – Malaysian Communities’ Trends on Current Issues Survey involved 4,486 respondents out of 12,082,403 Peninsular Malaysian voters.
In response to another question, 64% respondents agreed that Najib Razak should debate with the opposition’s Prime Minister candidate before the 14th General Election, similar to the presidential election debates featured in international media.
The survey which was conducted from August 11 to 16 also found that 15% replied that the debate is not necessary while another 21% was unsure.
The IDE Deputy Chairman, Profesor Dato’ Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman presented the results at the IDE Auditorium in the IDE Building yesterday.
