MB: Prepared to cooperate, no reason to run

BY HAFIZAN TAIB
SHAH ALAM, AUG 9: The State Government is prepared to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission if summoned to assist with investigation relating to Selangor University (UNISEL) arrears settlement.
The issue is relating to Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated’s (MBI) payment process for settlement to Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd amounting to RM16 milion.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said there is no reason for the State Government to avoid as they are ready with concrete proofs which is required.
“It is in fact the State Government’s stand from the beginning (to cooperate).
“Because we are confident that we have done everything according to the existing rules and regulations.
“There is no reason for us to run away from giving statement and whatever proof we have,” he said to the media today.
He said, the State Government has sufficient and strong arguments on the issue and is leaving it to MACC to investigate.
He also said that all processes are transparent and were made in the state’s interest including MBI and UNISEL.
“It’s alright as we all can lodge report or investigate,” he said commenting on the Kelana Jaya Umno Youth’s report on the issue to MACC.
