Shah Alam stadium repairs 90% complete this August

SHAH ALAM, AUG 3: Repair on the damaged Shah Alam Stadium’s roof is expected to be 90 percent complete by this August 11 said Amirudin Shari.
The Youth, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development Exco, Amirudin Shari said, the repair work is running smoothly and on schedule.
“So far, there is no problem as every facility has been upgraded, it just takes a bit of time.
“Anyway, we are waiting for feedback from the organiser if there is any additional requirement,” he said.
At the same time, Amirudin said, Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin is expected to visit the stadium this August 11.
The State Government had conducted repair work on the roof to ensure the Shah Alam Stadium is safe for the Malaysian League football matches and the 2017 Sea Games, this August.

The State Government expedited the works and reviewed the cost to ensure all processes run smoothly.
The stadium’s roof gained much attention when an object fell on it during the Malaysia B-22 against Myanmar B-22 friendly match last July.
The incident had caused the match to stop for a few minutes.
Amirudin had also informed that the State Government for the stadium’s management to be taken over by a more professional team in the long-run however the plan need to give value for money and fits the development plan of the surrounding area.
He said, the stadium’s management is reviewing the field’s condition to ensure it can be used safely especially for the Sea Games.
