Craft classes for community to generate income

SUBANG JAYA, SEP 12: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has taken the initiative to organise sewing and craft classes through the Urban Community Well-being Programme (PKMB) every last Saturday of the month.
MPSJ Corporate and Strategic Management Department Deputy Director, Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said the PKMB entrepreneurship programme is very beneficial to the locals to help generate income, thereby enhancing their families’ standard of living.
He said the programme is organised specially for senior citizens, single mothers, youth and women.
“This skill classes will be held every last Saturday of the month starting this September.
“This programme teaches various skills to fulfill the need of MPSJ’s community consisting of various activities,” he said in a statement.
He said, the sewing and craft classes will be held at Sindiket 2 Room, Level 1, Complex 3C, starting from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
“Syarikat Mostwell Sdn Bhd cooperates with MPSJ in this programme by lending 30 sewing machines and providing the teachers.
“This programme is also a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility with MPSJ,” he said.
Among the activities in the class are sewing bags from used banner, weaving ‘tudung saji’ (food cover), sewing skirts, felt craft and beading.
