KDEBWM managing waste efficiently, cleanliness enhanced

SELAYANG, SEP 27: Waste management by KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has shown positive results with the increased level of cleanliness in the local authority areas in Selangor.
Local Government, New Village Development and Illegal Factory Legalisation Exco, Ean Yong Hian Wah said the State Government is confident that KDEBWM can provide a good service to fulfil the needs of local authorities and the communities.
“Today, KDEBWM is cooperating with Selayang Municipal Council to manage solid and bulk waste collection in this area.
“According to statistics, there are differences especially reduction in number of complaints in this area and I hope this can be maintained as this is one of our promises to the people, to keep the whole of Selangor clean,” he said to media.
He said that after the Solid and Bulk Waste Management Service Agreement between MPS and KDEBWM Signing Ceremony and KDEBWM New Compactor Lorry Handover, at the MPS lobby today.

Ean Yong said, so far KDEBWM is working with 3 local authorities which are the Klang Municipal Council, Ampang Jaya City Council and MPS where the state government’s subsidiary has taken over the whole waste management tasks in those areas.
He said, KDEBWM has performed well and received encouraging responses from the public with the increased hygiene level.
“With this level of performance, we will continue to give this company the chance to take over waste management in other local authorities in the future.
“Complains regarding garbage has indeed reduced as the State Government has instructed local authorities and KDEBWM to take immediate action if there are any and enhance their performance level,” he said.
