Illegal garbage offenders face stern action

BY SABIRAH AZIZ
SHAH ALAM, OCT 13: Private-land owners or government-land encroachers in Taman Bukit Subang who are actively involved in illegal waste disposal will face legal action.
Kota Anggerik Assemblyman, Dr Yaakob Sapari said, he requests the authority to take legal action immediately in view of the many operations undertaken in that area prior to this.
“The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has conducted an operation last week, but when I go and inspect, the situation is still the same, so this must be dealt with accordingly.

“I have contacted the district management to clean-up the area and catch stray dogs, to return the situation back to normal,” he said.
Yaakob said notice has been put in the area but the intruders are still stubborn and defiant.
“Before this, the authority has come to clean the area, catch stray dogs and build drains but they were filled up again” he said.
Meanwhile, Melati Apartment Residents’ Association Chairman, Nor Azman Mohamed said the illegal dumping activity on the site is becoming out of control that it is affecting the lives of the people nearby.
“This problem has been ongoing for six years and many reports have been lodged to the authorities however the offenders are still operating illegally as if not afraid of the law.

“I request the relevant parties to close that area as it is causing disturbance to residents and it will become worse if left as it is,” he said.
The illegal activity on the 1.5 acres of land is located near a hill slope that separates the Melati Apartments and Teratai Apartments.
It is also located in an area below the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) high voltage cable.
