MBSA provides 142 free RORO bins

BY LIZAWATI MADFA
SHAH ALAM, OCT 19: There are a total of 142 Roll On Roll Off (RORO) bins, 3-tonnes capacity, being provided for free at Seksyen 1 to Seksyen 36 and Seksyen U1 to Seksyen U20, beginning October 16 to 31.
Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Head of Corporate and Public Relations, Shahrin Ahmad said the bins are placed in in appropriate locations in stages, to facilitate people to dispose bulk waste.
That would include old furniture and electrical items such as wardrobe, sofa, matress, bed, fridge, radio, television, battery charger and handphone.
“MBSA hopes to facilitate residents to clean their own houses.
“It is also to educate the people of Shah Alam on the correct way to manage bulk waste,” he said in a statement.
With that, Shahrin hoped that the public will cooperate by throwing these waste into the RORO bins and not dump them in undesignated places.
“Their cooperation will not only make it easier for the contractors to collect the waste but will also help keep the environment clean and comfortable,” he said.
For any enquiries, the public can contact Solid Waste Management and General Cleaning Department at 03-55105133 at extensions 1643 or 1316.
