Over 6,000 more trees planted in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, OCT 18: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and the Panasonic Group has recently initiated to plant 6,050 trees around the Dataran Kemerdekaan.
MBSA’s Head of Corporate and Public Relations, Shahrin Ahmad said, Panasonic Group contributed RM30,000 to MBSA in support of the Shah Alam Trees For Life campaign.
“Among the trees planted are golden raintree, bougainvillea, morinda, texas ranger and khoi,” he said.

The activity included 600 particpants comprising of 360 Panasonic Group employees in Klang Valley, 240 volunteers from Selangor State Economic Planning Unit, Selangor Audit, Seksyen 11 Plice Station, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Telekom as well as MBSA.
Sharin added that MBSA is always committed to turn Shah Alam into a low-carbon city by 2030.
“Among our efforts are the Shah Alam Green Initiatives such as Shah Alam No Vehicle Day, Green Pioneering, Garden in Schools, Community Garden and Shah Alam bicycle tracks,” he said.
The program was inaugurated by the Mayor, Dato ‘Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad and Panasonic Management Malaysia Sdn Bhd Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Hiroyuki Imizu.
