TOURISM SELANGOR HOSTS PERFECT CHINA INCENTIVE GROUP 2018

Tourism Selangor played host to more than 1,300 tourists all over China, from “Perfect China Incentive group 2018” at the welcome dinner ceremony on 19th June,2018 at Shah Alam Convention Centre .

The event aimed to continue promoting Selangor as a destination of choice for Chinese tourists when they visit Malaysia. Thus, it was no surprise that participants were given the opportunity to partake in trying Selangor’s traditional cuisine, the renowned Nasi Ambeng.

“This is the third programme with this kind of incentive group FAM Tour from China. Currently we have already received more than 12,000 participants and tourists from all over China since our first incentive program in 2015,” said Y.B. Dato’ Abdul Rashid Asari, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Culture, Tourism, Malay Civilization and Heritage. He further added that for the past two years, tourists from China have contributed the most tourists to the State of Selangor, and that for the first quarter of 2018, the number of tourist arrivals from China to the State of Selangor was 293,605.

As such, the event  highlighted other saleable attractions in Selangor such as Kg. Kuantan Firefly Park and Sky Mirror, apart from the usual itineraries planned for tourists, hence encouraging more market pro-activity, especially in introducing Selangor as one of the best destinations for a local food galore.

Tourism Selangor is optimistic to increase the number of tourist from China this year with support from their new digital marketing campaign via Weibo and WeChat platforms, both of which currently has over 30,000 followers from China.

 “This year we hope to achieve a further increase in numbers to 900,000 tourists from China. With all our initiatives in place, it will enable us to garner an increase of tourist arrivals this year,”  Dato’ Abdul Rashid Asari.
