Shah Alam, 25 June 2018 – The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) will organise the PKNS Trail Run and Duathlon 2018 for the first time in Bernam Jaya, Hulu Selangor this July.
The program, which will take place between 21st to 22nd July 2018, will be held to introduce Bernam Jaya to the public.
“The location is one out of 11 new growth centers that are being developed by PKNS and is strategically located at the border between Selangor and Perak,” says PKNS Chief Operating Officer Hajah Norita binti Mohd Sidek at the PKNS Trail Run & Duathlon Press Conference 2018 at Laman PKNS.
The event was also attended by General Manager of Central Regional Development, Azmi Adnan; Chairman of the Secretariat, Saharom Mohni and Event Director, Mohd Azlishah Abdullah.
“The program aims to introduce a location that has potential as one of the ideal destinations for a go-to rugged activity center, which will also indirectly encourage the community to practice a healthy lifestyle and cultivate a love for being active,” says Hajah Norita binti Mohd Sidek.
The PKNS Trail Run event, which is being held on 21 July comprises of two categories and is both open to men and women for the 21 km, 10km and 5km run event.
Meanwhile, for the Duathlon Trial held on 22 July, the men’s and women’s open category are involved in two disciplines starting with the 5km run, 20km biking and lastly running 5km before the finish line.
“As of today (25 June 2018), PKNS has received 500 entries of various ages from different states,” she says, adding that the PKNS Trail Run and Duathlon 2018 offer a total prize of RM72, 000 to potential winners for both the events, and is amongst the highest prize to be given out from a sporting event such as this.
Participation is open to all Malaysian citizens. Participation fee for the Trail Run event for the 21km category is RM100, RM60 for the 10km category and RM30 for 5km. Meanwhile, the participation fee for the Trail Duathlon event is at a rate of RM150.
