KUALA LUMPUR: PKR Deputy President Mohamed Azmin Ali today urged fellow PKR leaders to put the bigger Pakatan Harapan agenda over a certain camps or personal interest.
He said the people have voted for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to bring changes and it would be wrong for its leaders to betray the people’s mandate by not adhering to it.
“The people have given an unprecedented support to the new PH government to conduct the reformasi agenda, fullfilling the aspirations of the people.”
“For me, as leaders we can’t betray the mandate given by the people in bringing changes.”
“Therefore I call upon all leaders and members to prioritise this bigger agenda over the benefits of any individual or group,” said the Economic Affairs Minister.
Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby here, Azmin was responding to PKR central committee member Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid’s claims that Azmin is part of a conspiracy to prevent PKR defacto leader Anwar Ibrahim from becoming Prime Minister.
Earlier, PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin has urged the party’s top leadership to take action against candidates who attack each other over the party polls.
When asked if disciplinary actions should be taken against Abdullah, Azmin said that he will leave the matter completely at the hands of either PH or PKR disciplinary committee.
However, Azmin pointed out that its not so much about disciplinary matters but more towards leadership credibility issues.
“I believe its not only a disciplinary issue but this involves the competency of a person carrying his responsibilities in any parties.”
“I hope all parties can move forward in strengthening the PH government im carrying out our duties as leaders,” he said.
Over the weekends, Abdullah Sani had claimed that several parties, who had wronged Anwar previously, were again conspiring to deny him the prime ministership.
He said this when campaigning for PKR Vice President Rafizi Ramli who is contesting against Azmin for the party number two post in the upcoming PKR polls.
