KLANG: PKR Deputy President Mohamed Azmin Ali today told the people of Sungai Kandis to not give a chance at all to a party of crooks and theives.

In reffering to Umno, Azmin said there is only one real choice in the Sungai Kandis by-election as he to urged voters to vote for Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni.

“Today there is only one option. Umno are saying to give them just one seat (in Selangor state assembly).”

“No way! We cannot give even one seat to a party of thieves and crooks!” he said at the Sungai Kandis by-election campaign grand finale event which lead to an uproar from the crowd.”

In a fiery speech, Azmin said that Barisan Nasional candidate Lokman Noor Adam is nowhere near to Zawawi who is a local religious teacher.

He said he wants the voice of Sungai Kandis be heard loud and clear through Zawawi at the first ever state assembly sitting after the PH coalition took over the government.

“Comparing Zawawi to the candidate from the other side, its clear that we have placed a better candidate with an excellent background and track record,” he said.

The Economic Affairs Minister added, although PH have made history by securing 51 Selangor state seat, Sungai Kandis seat will continue to be a matter of great importance to the Selangor government.

He said PH administration will continue their struggles especially after they have been entrusted by the people of Selangor who continues to give their support.

“If PH practices corruption, oppressed the people, unfair, cruel, there is no way the people would have voted us at GE14. We have a strong administration, stable and fair to all regardless of race.”

“Therefore the people gave us their huge support until there’s only four assemblyman from Umno Barisan Nasional left,” he said.

Zawawi will be facing Barisan Nasional’s Lokman Noor Adam and independent candidate K Murthy tomorrow for the Sungai Kandis state seat.

The Sungai Kandis by-election was called following the death of Shuhaimi Shafiei on July 2 due to lymphoma.
