KUALA LUMPUR – The first day of the Bloconomic (Blockchain Economic) Summit 2018 was an overwhelming success with over one thousand participants turning up at the Connexion Conference Event Centre in Bangsar South today.
Organized by Alphacap, the summit aims to bring together the many components of Blockchain economy into the heart of South East Asia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The summit, currently taking place (August 16 and 17), is to discuss the real applied cases and future prospects of Blockchain in areas of finance, global payment system, travel, healthcare, energy trading, digital identity authentication, electronic record authentication, IoT, supply chain management, government governance, and electronic know-your-customer (E-KYC) as well as addressing the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Among the many topics discussed today were ‘Addressing Poverty and Infrastructure Financing via Blockchain-powered Financial Inclusion’, ‘Blockchain and Islamic Economy’, as well as a panel discussion titled ‘Blockchain landscape in US, France and Malaysia’, all of which comprised of a curated list of high profile speakers and special guests who are professionals in the field.
“It was a very informative and fruitful event, one where the participants had the opportunity to learn from 70 international speakers who shared their knowledge and solutions with the crowd about the industry” explained Boey Kwa Jian, Secretary of Malaysia Blockchain association and director of Alphacap Berhad.
