KOTA RAJA: PKR Sungai Kandis by-election candidate Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni aims to bring more affordable housing to the constituency with the help of the Pakatan Harapan government.

Realising that the matter could potentially be a big issue for the locals, Zawawi said that an increase for new settlement prioritising the native needs to be looked into soon.

He said that he will seek the help of the Housing and Local Government Ministry, Selangor state government as well as the private sectors by giving suggestions to help ease the burden of the locals.

“I will suggest the Selangor state government to build more Rumah Selangorku here that prioritise Sungai Kandis Native.”

“I will plead to the Housing and Local Government Ministry to increase their efforts in developing PR1MA in this area.”

“I will also encourage land owners who plans to do a joint venture with private developers to build more affordable housing here,” he said.

Speaking to reporters after an event at the MBSA Hall in Sungai Kandis, Zawawi said the constituency is getting more and more packed due to mass and rapid developments.

Due to this, settlements for the locals especially the younger generations as well as employees in the industrial sector are becoming scarce.

“Seeing that there are no major plans to develop new housing areas in Sungai Kandis today, I will fight for this so that the issue will not be a problem for the locals,” he said.

Zawawi will be facing BN’s Lokman Noor Adam and independent candidate Murthy Krishnasamy on August 4.

The Sungai Kandis by-election was called following the death of Shuhaimi Shafiei on July 2 due to lymphoma.
