SSDU’s Appreciation to Local Councils

KUALA LUMPUR – Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) held an appreciation session for the Local Councils to pay tribute to the their efforts and competency in their duties on 14 September, 2018 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre ( MITEC ).

Since the establishment of Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) in April 2016, SSDU has worked closely together with the stakeholders of Selangor State, particularly with the Local Councils to identify the citizens’ problems, plan the best and ideal solution, and to implement the initiatives that will help to improve the quality of life of the citizen.

Based on this co-creation principle, the significant involvement of the Local Council to ensure the success of the implementation of the Smart Selangor initiatives are undeniable. In view of this, SSDU conducted an appreciation session to the Local Councils in conjunction with the Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention 2018, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre ( MITEC ).

The appreciation to the Local Councils was presented  by Ahmad Zaki Bin Yusof, Deputy Director of Seksyen Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan, UPEN, and John Davies, the advisor of Smart Selangor.

The appreciation for Smart Selangor Delivery Platform (SSDP) was awarded to MPAJ, MPKj, MDHS, MDKS and MDSB. MDHS was also awarded for their dedication and co-operation for the pioneer implementation of the Cashless Society initiative, while MPKlang received the appreciation for the implementation of Smart Pasar.

In addition, six officers from MBPJ, MPK, MPSJ, MPSp, MPKj and MPAJ respectively received appreciation for their co-operation and dedication of the implementation of potholes reporting leveraging on the Intelligent Response Selangor (i-RS).

SSDU is hopeful that these appreciations will spark stronger commitment from the State’s Local Council towards the state economy development and better quality of life for the citizen, particularly in driving Selangor towards a “Smart State” in ASEAN by 2025.
