This ‘princess’ has the longest name in Malaysia

PUTRAJAYA: The current person that holds the record for having the longest name in Malaysia is Princess Aura Nurr Emily Amara Auliya Bidadari Nawal El Zendra Mohd Sufian.

The amazing name consisting of 63 characters and 12 words, given sometime last year, didn’t even include the father’s name in it.

This fun fact was revealed by the National Registration Department (NRD) Director-General Mohammad Razin Abdullah during the 2018 National Registration Day celebration.

Mohammad Razin during the event also revealed that ‘Ismail’, ‘Ahmad’ and ‘Abdullah’ were the top 3 most popular Malaysian names for male.

The name Ismail was registered to 72,157 individuals; Ahmad was registered to 57,914 individuals; and Abdullah waz registered to 47,989 individuals.

On the other hand, Malaysia’s most popular name for female was revealed to be ‘Fatimah’, followed by ‘Zainab’ and ‘Azizah’.

Fatimah was registered to 74,605 individuals; Zainab was registered to 41,450 individuals; and Azizah was registered to 34,414 individuals.

Mohammad Razin then pointed out that Deputy Home Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman, who launched the event doesn’t seem to share his name with anyone in the country as he was the only one.

Mohd Azis later in his speech quipped that he should copyright his name so that it will remain his and his alone.
