SEPANG – Four suspects in connection to a hit-and-run incident that killed a woman at the Shaftsbury Square in Cyberjaya on Wednesday evening has been detained.

The remand order was issued by Sepang Court’s Deputy Registrar Alpha Anak Dragam today.

Suspects of the incident are three foreign men of Middle-Eastern origin, aged in their early 20s, and a 3-year-old woman from Sabah.

“The silver Hyundai involved in the hit-and-run was also seized during the arrests,” said Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali.

The suspects were arrested at about midnight at Pusat Bandar Putra Permai in Seri Kembangan and at Verdi Residence in Cyberjaya.

All four suspects are students of an international university in Cyberjaya, he added.

On Wednesday, 31-year-old Wan Amirah Wan Alias was hit by the car as she was crossing Shaftsbury Square at 7.30pm.

A closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage of the incident shows the vehicle mowing down the victim before dragging her on the road for several metres.

She suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Putrajaya Hospital at 4am yesterday.

The footage has since gone viral on social media.

Wan Amirah, an assistant manager with Unifi, had just turned 31 on Oct 4.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
