BANGI – Over 132 students and teachers were present for the Familiarization Trip program to Bangi Wonderland organised by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) on Nov 14.

The Fam Trip is an introductory program for KTM Komuter Ronda-Ronda Package, where 132 students including teachers from Kindergarten Ilya Cahayaku Batu Caves, Sekolah Rendah Agama Islam Section 19 Shah Alam and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Bandaraya Bangsar was taken by train from KL Sentral Station to Bangi Station, before proceeding to Bangi Wonderland by bus.

Khair Johari Ishak, general manager of KTMB said the educational package aims to provide an interesting experience for the public, especially children on trips and recreational activities while visiting interesting locations that are near the KTM Komuter network.

The package is also aimed to promote the use of trains among the younger generation, especially schoolchildren, thus promoting domestic tourism activities through rail services around Selangor.

“The KTM Komuter Patrol Package was first introduced in 2004 with three types of packages, but from time to time we have improvised and added more options, resulting to the program having six types of packages in 2015.

“For a change this time, the smart partnership between KTM Berhad, Bangi Wonderland and Kuala Lumpur Tower was introduced as well as the addition of new locations, making it a total of seven packages as of this year,” he said.

This was said at a press conference after the launch of the Familiarization Trip program, in Bangi Wonderland, here, today.

The new Rail-Edu-Tourism package ranges from RM70 to RM120 per person through the KTM Komuter Ronda-Ronda package.

Khair said the package also got cooperation from the KTM Holidays and Event Management Unit which played a key role in supporting the country’s tourism industry policy through the concept of ‘Rail Tourism’.

“This collaboration allows the KTM Komuter Ronda Ronda package to be more recognizable and get the attention of all parties, especially students and teachers from kindergarten, primary and secondary schools.

“For that, next year we will set up a team to manage this package as well as create more packages so that it is more attractive and informative,” he said.
