SHAH ALAM – The construction of a race track in the Sungai Tua, Gombak area as announced in the Selangor State Budget 2019 (Budget’19) goes smoothly and will proceed to the land acquisition phase at the State Government level.

Gombak District and Land Officers, Dato ‘Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim, said they have identified and completed a 20-acre land surveying project identified as the project site.

“With the completion of the measurement process, we will bring a paper to Dato ‘Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari to gazette the land and the land will remain the property of the State Government, not given to others and gazetted by the Selangor State Secretary (SUK) and maintained by Selangor State Sports Council (MSN).

“So all the seats and activities in the area will be monitored and managed by MSN Selangor,” he said.

According to him, the location of the circuit is located on the Gombak-Sungai Tua road to Ulu Yam and away from the residential area and does not cause disturbance to sports activities.

Commenting on the same, Mohamad Nizam Marjugi, Acting Executive Director of Selangor MSN, said that it would begin the process of designing the circuit after all the earthworks were completed.

He said MSN will discuss with all relevant parties to ensure that the circuit is ready to meet the major tournaments specification.
