MB – RM3.2 billion spent on IPR since 2008

KUALA LUMPUR – A total of RM3.2 billion has been spent by the State Government since 2008 to implement the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) program in distributing state revenue through special livelihood support assistance for the lower income group in Selangor.

Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, said that the administration’s ability to professionally maintain the state of Selangor’s progress as a developed state since 2005 until now through the pattern of integrity administration has also contributed to IPR implementation capabilities.

“We are balancing between what we get and dividing, how we divide and who we divide. No more distribution concepts for certain people and favoritism in the distribution process.

“In terms of distributing and maintaining virtue, our leaders should be ‘color blind’. Its meaning in terms of race, religion and political affiliation as the need to be helped is the people.

“The political question should be discussed in a different context. The concept is what is said to be fair, giving priority to the needy and we can do it successfully.

“In the past, if there were no other groups capable of administering, Selangor would prove to have a group, and that is Pakatan Harapan (PAKATAN) to govern well, manage and maintain the state’s advanced status and bring prosperity to the people,” he said in a special interview through the Politics Talk program titled ‘Selangor Roadshow 2019: Progress Along’ on TV1.

Amirudin explained that the re-alignment of the IPR as set out in the Selangor Budget 2019 does not mean to stop the form of assistance provided, it is instead to empower the potential and empower the recipient’s skills to jump to one level better than ever.

For example, the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS) program that provided RM200 monthly assistance continued while supporting the employment of employers so that recipients did not rely solely on assistance but could also generate more income and exit poverty.

In addition, a sense of togetherness at the state and federal level now following the victory of PAKATAN in Putrajaya will provide ease, especially through the cooperation of government agencies so that the people receive more benefits.
