31 Participants Completed The Selangor Youth & Training Program

KAJANG – A total of 31 trainees from Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students successfully completed the Selangor Skills Training & Work Program organized by the Johor Skills at the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) on January 13.

The first program, which is also getting cooperation with the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), was held for a week, starting January 7.

Johor Skills Chief Executive Officer, Zakbah Harun said the program was part of its initiative towards strengthening the youth of Selangor, thereby helping to increase their marketability.

“This is because, in the near future, Malaysia will not have the need to take too many foreign workers, whereas local manpower will be needed in other foreign countries.

“In line with the government’s agenda to make Malaysia one of the world’s most advanced countries, this program also aims to achieve zero poverty in the country,” he said at the opening of the program.

Earlier, the program featured a local comedian or celebrity, Abam Bocey, who also spent time sharing the experiences and crush stories that had to be cascaded before he saw the success of his art career.

Zakbah said today’s youths need to be aware of and to have the desire, as well as to cultivate their determination and aspiration to further improve their standard of living.

Hence, he said, some aspects were emphasized throughout the program such as the importance of knowledge, skills and responsibilities in the trainee.

“These three elements are the main impetus that can help trainees achieve their dreams because no ambition is impossible and no dream can’t be achieved. The saying goes, Where there is a will, there is a way.

“Likewise, the bright future is unlikely to be realized in a short time and I hope the spirit of the trainer will always burn them to continue to strive for the fun of the future,” he said.

Also present were Head of Development Division of Asnaf LSZ, Dr Adibah Abdul Wahab and Head of GMI Business Development Section, Mohd Tanwyn Mohd Khushairi.

Skills Johor is the first skill hub in Malaysia that contributes significantly to training, technical and vocational studies based on industry needs.

Acting as a human capital catalyst, the institution that operated in Petaling Jaya was once awarded the status as Master Administered by the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
