More than 3,000 enjoyed the Day Without Vehicle in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM –  More than 3,000 people enjoyed the No Vehicle Day in Shah Alam, organised by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) at the Independence Square, Section 14, pn Feb 11.

MBSA Head of Corporate and Public Relations, Shahrin Ahmad said the programme was an initiative towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing the use of vehicles on roads that could pollute the environment.

“This programme is also in line with MBSA’s direction to make Shah Alam a carbon low-end city by 2030.

“Also there are recreational activities such as cycling, walking, aerobics, taichi workouts, stage performances by MBSA combo and free health checks,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, he said, the crowd took the opportunity to experiment with wall climbing, Taichi exercises, Mobile Library, Shah Alam On Wheels, Food Truck, chu chu train, Frisbee Clinic, Hydro Gel Games, Futsal On 3 and Fruit Eating Challenge.

“Interestingly, they joined the Best Variety Dress Competition involving two categories namely the Family and Individual Category.

“In addition, the Jom Picnic Dhuha relaxing chat programme entitled ‘Chat Relaxation’ with Mel Wings and Amira Ann Lee and the Eco Free Market Program were also held.

“Meanwhile, the launch of the run was held by Shah Alam Deputy Mayor, Mohd Rashidi Ruslan,” he said.
