MB – RM990 MILLION SAVED DUE TO OPEN TENDER SYSTEM

SEMENYIH – A total of RM990 million was saved after the implementation of the open tender system by the Selangor Government.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said that of the total, RM68 million was saved last year.

“Over the past eight years, the State Government has implemented an open tender system, compared to the previous government which applied a tender system directly to contractors with unmatched prices.

“Ultimately, the implementation was fruitful and we managed to save RM990 million and channel it to the people through the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat programme (IPR),” he said at the People’s Meetings Ceremony, in Semenyih Mengundi District Center, here.

He said over RM3 billion had been spent on IPR programs through efficient administration, non-corruption and good governance.

At the same time, he said, the Central Government under Pakatan Harapan is not in a hurry to implement the promised program and is instead launching the National Anti-Corruption Plan which outlines conditions for politicians to be of integrity.

“Of course, because of this, we will succeed in implementing the best programs to ensure the people are well-off and well-guarded,” he said.
