MB honours the Sultan on issue of contempt for Prophet Muhammad SAW

SHAH ALAM – Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari honours His Royal Highness Duli Yang Maha Mulia (DYMM) Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on the issue of contempt for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

He said the act of insulting the character of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was an offense that would undermine harmony and unity in the country.

“In view of this, I expressed my support and respect for the DYMM Sultan of Selangor and urged all parties to reconcile and submit to His Majesty’s decree.

“Hence, I repeat my recent stance that condemns all forms of humiliation to Prophet Muhammad SAW,” he said in a statement.

Amirudin said that the act should be stopped immediately so as not to bring undesirable events to avert the state’s well-being.

“I urge authorities including the Royal Malaysian Police and the Attorney-General’s Chambers to take appropriate action against irresponsible parties on this issue,” he said.

Earlier, the DYMM Sultan of Selangor sadly saw some non-Muslim parties  openly insulting the personality of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Secretary of the Selangor Royal House, Hanafisah Jais said that the act of insulting the Prophet and the issues that contaminates the sanctity of Islam has occurred often to the extent of challenging the patience of Muslims.

The Selangor Sultan as the Head of State Islamic Religion also stressed that preserving the dignity of the Prophet is the main claim in the sharia maqasid, thus making it the responsibility of Muslims to defend it.
