Storm Victims to Receive Help from State Government

SHAH ALAM – The State Government will provide assistance to victims affected by the recent natural disaster around Selangor.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the aid was to ease the burden of the affected victims following the incident.

“Prior to this, I was informed that the storm had hit Paya Jaras area affecting 300 houses including 35 fallen trees, on March 10 around Shah Alam.

“Immediate relief will be given to the victims to ease their burden due to the disaster,” he said in a Facebook post.

At the same time, Amirudin also advised the public to restrict outdoor activities in order to remain safe.

He also called on people to contact MBSA at 1800-88-4477 if there was an incident of fallen trees occurring in their area.

Earlier, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) received 50 complaints regarding the incident of fallen trees in several locations, in the city at 7.15pm last night.

Some locations were reportedly affected by the thunderstorm occurring at 5.27 pm yesterday, among them Angsana Hall at Jalan Liku 8/1, Section 8 and near Shah Alam District Police Headquarters, Condominum Sri Mahligai in Section 9 and Section 11.
