Sultan of Selangor Favours the Principles of the Central and State Federalism

SHAH ALAM – Strong co-operation between the state and the federal government is favoured by Duli Yang Maha Mulia the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

He  expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government which had allocated RM 2.6 billion to implement 39 new projects and 274 joint projects in the Rolling Plan 4 (RP4).

“The principle of a healthy and mature federalism will result in the country being able to generate economic growth and prosperity.”

“We welcome the efforts of the Central Government to formulate policies based on growth and prosperity sharing.”

“This policy will raise the spirit of cooperation to share the wealth with the concept of shared prosperity,” Sultan Sharafuddin said this at the Opening Ceremony of the Second Division Conference of 14th Selangor State Assembly of 2019, yesterday.

At the same time, the Sultan is also keen on the Ministry of Economic Affairs to finalize the immediate implementation of the RM 485 million Klang Bridge Phase 2 Upgrade Project to increase the level of service and reduce traffic congestion.

He also expressed his joy with the ministry’s decision to continue with 14 previously deferred development projects with a total cost of RM 167 million.

“It is understood that various ministries and implementing agencies at the central level are discussing with the state government on 74 new projects in the state government’s wish list.

“This includes the Sungai Aur Cliff Strengthening Project, Klang District, has been approved for implementation in 2019 with a project cost of RM 15 million.

“We believe the good relationship between the Federal Government and the State Government will continue to be strengthened in the future for the benefit of the people and mutual prosperity,” said Sultan Sharafuddin.
