Selangor’s Success a Model for Other States

KUALA SELANGOR – The success of Selangor in becoming the administration model for other states is not achieved in a short period of time, said Selangor Menteri Besar.

Amirudin Shari said many changes were made since Pakatan Rakyat  took over the leadership of the State Government in 2008.

He said the state government at that time was committed to making positive changes such as eradicating corruption, misappropriation and wastage in its administration.

“In early 2008, we were shifting, we changed the DNS institution (State Assembly of Selangor), changed the administration approach, avoid corruption, deviation and wastage,” said Amirudin.

“Hence, we are also implementing various programmes of concern for the people in Selangor. In fact, many states are now making Selangor an example to them, ” he said.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said this at the Selangor Perdana Kepemimpinan Breaking Fast (PAKATAN) ceremony together with the people at Masjid Ar Rahman, Bukit Badong, here, on 12 May.

Also present were the Minister of Economic Affairs, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali; Health Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr Dzulkefly and EXCO of Culture, Tourism, Malay Civilization and Selangor Heritage, Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari.

At the same time, Amirudin said, after the outcome of the last general election (GE), the people’s hope for PAKATAN government was huge.

“We will continue to carry the trust given. Gaining the trust of the people is not an easy task,  but we are confident of achieving the people’s trust as best we can,” he said.
