Village Chieftains Accept Appointment Letters

SHAH ALAM – A total of 292 Selangor Traditional Village Chieftains receive the letter of appointment given by Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari.

Present at the Banquet Hall of the Perak Jubilee, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building, the recipients are the first batch of traditional village chiefs appointed for the 2018/2020 session which commenced since 1 October last year to 31 December 2020.

The service of the Selangor Traditional Village Chieftain is subject to the Guidelines of the Traditional Village and the Selangor Village Community Representative Council (MPKK) and the state government’s circulars and decisions from time to time.

Presentation of the letter of appointment for the second group of 79 traditional village chieftains will be carried out once the documentation is completed and has passed the trial period of six months.

Every village chieftain who is also the Chairman of the MPKK receives monthly allowance of RM 1,200 which is the highest compared to other states.

In fact, every MPKK in the state of Selangor also receives RM 20,000 from the state government and an additional RM 10,000 from the Federal Government for community programmes, welfare and other necessities for the benefit of the villagers and locals.
