Jalan Tengku Kelana Lane to be Decorated with 3D Murals

KLANG – The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) is committed to beautify several lanes at Jalan Tengku Kelana through 3D-shaped murals.

MPK President, Dato’ Mohamad Yasid Bidin said the work for the murals has started, but it has to be postponed to give the opportunity for the infrastructure around the lane to be repaired.

He said his department also received an allocation of RM 1.4 million from the state government to renovate the lane of Jalan Tengku Kelana this year.

“We are planning to renovate the lane of Jalan Tengku Kelana and it has started since the beginning of last year when one of the murals was ready,” said Mohamad Yasid.

“Meanwhile, a 3D-shaped mural will be upgraded in the area after the area’s rehabilitation work is completed,” he added.

He said this when met by the media after launching the ‘Heritage X-Plore’ Launching of GM Klang’s Wholesale Center on 25 July.

At the same time, he said the initiative to paint the murals is to make it as one of the attractions to attract tourists to Klang and Selangor.

“When people see this mural they are sure to have their pictures taken and to take pictures of the murals, thus attracting more visitors to this area,” he said.

Previously, a total of 70 students from the Faculty of Art and Design of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam successfully produced a mural featuring a historical place in this area that adorns the Block C of Klang GM here.

This was part of a corporate social responsibility project in conjunction with GM Klang’s 10th anniversary celebration.
