KDEBWM Takes Action on Foreign Truck Drivers

SHAH ALAM – KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) takes action on one of the sub contractors in Subang Jaya which has been using foreign truck drivers.

Its managing director, Ramli Mohd Tahir, said his side was upset with the incident as the compressor lorry was driven by foreigners as it went viral on social media.

“KDEBWM will not hesitate to take decisive action on our sub contractors who fails to comply with the established SOPs including terminating their service contracts,” said Ramli.

“Hence, strict action has been taken on one of the sub contractors who used foreign workers as a lorry driver as what was seen on social media today,” he said on 21 July.

Ramli said that it also instructed all other sub contractors to ensure that they use the services of local drivers who have valid lorry driving licenses only.

“KDEBWM thank one of the Serdang residents, who reported the incident of one of our sub contractors, for their concern,” he said.

“However, we seek the cooperation of all parties not to continue to viral the videos that could affect the image and reputation of our company for this incident,” he added.

“This is because the case does not necessarily indicate that all of our sub-contractors are involved with foreign drivers,” he added.

At the same time, he said, KDEBWM will continue to be committed to ensure that the state of Selangor is always clean and guarantee to always abide by the law set out by the authorities in this country.

Previously, a video of a foreign worker driving the KDEBWM truck went viral on Facebook.

The 32-second video was criticized by netizens with nearly 5,000 shares.
