SHAH ALAM – Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (YAWAS) has tabled the Auditor-General’s Report 2018 at the Board of Trustees’ Meeting for further approval and action.
Its General Manager, Gan Pei Nei, said all the findings and recommendations from the report and the plan of improvement have also been informed during the meeting.
According to Gan, YAWAS noted the weaknesses mentioned in the audit report and are taking appropriate steps.
“It includes improving standard operating procedures as well as internal control mechanisms to improve YAWAS’s performance,” she said.
“We are always committed to improving the transparency and effective corporate governance practices that are in line with the company’s vision of becoming a renowned foundation in the welfare of children and the people of Selangor,” she said in a statement.
Previously, the Auditor General’s Report 2018 Series 1 found that audit on the aspect of YAWAS’s corporate governance was unsatisfactory and some improvements were needed in line with corporate best practices.
In addition, for the Youth Marriage Incentive programme, there are weaknesses in management regarding the incentive payment period for successful applicants.
