Air Quality in Selangor Decreasing


SHAH ALAM – The Air Pollution Index (API) in Selangor is nearly unhealthy, according to a report by the Department of Environment today.

The IPA at Johan Setia Klang showed readings on the scale of 97, until 12 noon while the air quality level was at 101.

Other locations in the state have shown moderate air quality readings including Banting (85), Klang (80), Petaling Jaya (80) and Shah Alam (78).

Meanwhile, unhealthy API readings were recorded in Miri, Sarawak at 155.

The 0 to 50 IPUs are considered well, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy while over 301 is dangerous.
