Air Selangor Maintains Terms and Conditions of Agreement

SHAH ALAM – No changes to the terms and conditions of existing water supply service agreements in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya following the restructuring of the water supply industry and the acquisition of all private-owned concessionaires as announced by Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari on Tuesday.

Chief Executive Officer  of Air Selangor Sdn Bhd ,Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said that starting on 13 September, the state government subsidiary will be the sole licensee of water supply services in the Klang Valley.

“Starting this Friday, Air Selangor will conduct water treatment and distribution activities to consumers in the area and consumers will also receive water bills from us later on,” said Suhaimi.

“Air Selangor will be the sole licensee of water supply services in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya,” he said in a statement.

Suhaimi said the company also introduced a new logo that symbolized the company’s commitment to providing the best service to its customers.

Previously, Air Selangor was formally announced to be the sole licensee of water supply services and sole operator of water treatment and distribution activities to consumers in the Klang Valley.

Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari said that through the restructuring of the water supply industry with the activation of the single license, Air Selangor has now successfully completed the acquisition of all concessionaires.

He said the success of the restructuring also meant that all water concessions would be terminated.

“We have successfully realized the aspirations of a holistic water services industry management under a fully state-owned operator for improved, effective, competitive and sustainable water service quality and efficiency,” said Amirudin.

“With this in mind, we have successfully completed the restructuring of the water supply industry and all private sector concessionaires namely Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd (PNSB Water), Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS), ABASS Consortium Sdn Bhd (ABASS), Selangor Water Consortium Sdn Bhd (KASB) and Sungai Selangor Water Supply Company Sdn Bhd (SPLASH) were successfully acquired, ” he added.
