Install CCTVs to Combat Disposal of Illegal Waste

SERI KEMBANGAN – Seri Kembangan State Assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah has allocated RM 10,000 for the installation of closed-circuit cameras (CCTVs) to address the issue of illegal waste disposal in industrial areas here.

He said the effort was made based on complaints from small and medium-sized businessmen and locals over illegal dumping in the area.

“When these CCTVs are installed in advance, we may be able to reduce them, thus preventing this problem of illegal dumping,” said Ean.

“I hope that these irresponsible individuals will be arrested soon and possibly in the future I will increase the number of CCTVs,” he added.

Hian Wah said most of the waste that was dumped was from domestic and industrial waste and was believed to be made by foreign workers nearby.

He said the situation became worse when old vehicles were dumped in the same location.

“I recommend that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council  tow these cars as it also blocks the public’s access to these roads,” he said.
