Air Selangor: Water disruption in Hulu Langat due to faulty electrical system

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — Several areas in the Hulu Langat district faces an unscheduled water supply disruption, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), today.

The disruption is said to have been caused by a faulty electrical system at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant, resulting in several of its raw water pumps to be inoperable.

Some of the areas affected include Balakong, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Country Heights, and Kampung Sungai Ramal.

“The incident has caused five raw water pumps to be inoperable, which is causing a decrease in treated water from the daily 470 MLD (million litres per day) to 180 MLD.

“Our technical team is working to resolve the issue to minimise the impact of water disruption on the customer affected,” said Air Selangor in a statement, today.

“Water tank trucks have been prepared and priority is given to customers and critical premises.”

The public can refer to the Air Selangor mobile phone application for the latest update and status on the matter.
