MB Donates RM 7.7 Mil to Selangor’s Religious Schools

SHAH ALAM – The state government has distributed RM 7.7 million in Phase 1 2019 OF school aid to 435 Selangor state religious schools.

The beneficiaries include religious schools, madrasah, ma’had tahfiz, agama fardu ain (KAFA) classes and private primary and secondary religious schools.

Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari said the amount was part of the RM 24 million allocated by the state government through this year’s School Assistance Distribution Programme.

“In total, the grant of Phase 1 2019 school aid was RM 19.21 million which was distributed to 665 schools throughout the State of Selangor,” Amirudin stated.

“Previously, we have distributed to Chinese schools and missionary schools. God willing, by the end of this year we will be able to distribute the remaining allocation to all schools,” he said.

Amirudin said this when met after the Selangor State Religious Assistance Programme Phase 1 of the Year 2019, at the Lecture and Islamic Museum, here.

He said the delay in the allocations in June and July was due to the Exco portfolio changes and the process of updating the application data.

Previously, the Selangor Islamic Religious Affairs portfolio was held by the late Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin who passed away on 2 August 2018.

In a similar speech, Amirudin said the school’s application for Phase 2 has been open since 10 September and will end on 11 October.
