SHAH ALAM, Oct 25 — The Seminar of Peaceful Coexistence recently organised by Universiti Selangor (Unisel) was seen as the right platform to strengthen the bilateral ties between Malaysia and Thailand.

Its corporate communications director Hasril Hassan said the main objective of the seminar is to identify issues and look into studying the future between Malaysia and Thailand.

“The seminar had offered the opportunity for research activities in relation to the Islamic community in Southern Thailand.

“It was also held to focus on information sharing on the halal industry, research, socio-economy, tolerance and religious harmony, which were addressed by Unisel lecturers and several representatives from universities in Thailand,” he said.

The event was launched by Unisel president and vice-chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman at the Holiday Inn Glenmarie hotel, here.

Also present were Port Dickson MP Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE) board of director Amidi Abdul Manan.
