Police receive over 37,000 applications via online recruitment system

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — The Royal Malaysian Police has received over 37,000 applications for 6,000 vacancies comprising various positions, through its online recruitment system called ‘e-Pengambilan’ launched on Sept 23.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the vacancies are for positions to be filled next year.

Among the applications received until Oct 25, were 11,321 for the position of inspector (YA13), and these were from 5,851 female and 5,470 male applicants.

A total of 22,441 applications, out of which 11,688 and 10,753 were from male and female applicants respectively, was also received for the post of police constable (YA1), said Mazlan during the launch of the recruitment system at Bukit Aman here today.

The recruitment drive will end on Nov 8, he said, adding that he was very encouraged by the volume of applications received, which he believed was an indication that a career in the police force was valued by the public.

Mazlan expressed the hope that with the online recruitment system in place, the application and selection processes had become easier and more efficient.
